Albert S. Cook Library’s collection includes more than 600,000 books, and 190,000+ electronic books. Students also have access to over 250 electronic databases and approximately 40,000 electronic and print journals.

Baltimore Hebrew Institute Judaic Collection - 2nd floor
A specialized collection of Jewish studies that includes material on:
- The Bible and archaeology
- Jewish history, rabbinics
- Jewish philosophy, political science, sociology
- Jewish education, language and literature and the arts
Federal Depository Library Collection
- Over 53,000 documents in the library catalog, available electronically.
- Accessible to Towson students, faculty, and staff, as well as the public, through the library catalog and the Government Information Subject Gateway.
- Includes hearings, legislation, reports, research, maps, websites, and databases in politics, law, business, education, health sciences, the environment, and much more
Juvenile Book Collection - 5th floor
- A collection of about 15,000 books
- Divided into the categories of fiction, short stories, non-fiction and biography
- Shelved according to the Dewey Decimal System
Multimedia Collection - 2nd floor, Media Resources Services
- A collection of over 8,500 videos and films, as well as a collection of audiocassettes, phonograph records, and CDs
- Students must view video materials in the Media Lab
- Audiocassettes, phonograph records, and CDs can be used in the Media Lab or checked out

Periodicals - 2nd, 4th, and 5th floors
- Subscriptions to over 250 electronic databases and over 40,000 electronic and print journals
- Microfilm and microfiche
- Microform readers/printers
- Provide access to a wide range of subjects, opinions, research and current events, and include scholarly, professional journals, and popular magazines
- A staffed service desk is available for assistance
- For use in the library only
- Unbound periodicals are located on the second floor

- Encyclopedias, dictionaries, statistical manuals, and bibliographies

Reserves - 3rd floor, ask at Circulation Desk
- Closed stacks (not open-access and self-serve)
- Intended to supplement course materials
- Physical format and electronic format (e-reserves)
- Physical reserves are available for limited time and typically restricted to in-library use
- E-reserves are online and allow multiple users at one time
Special Collections & Archives - 5th floor
- Special Collection of the history of the University from 1866 to present
- Repository for non-current official University Records
- Repositiory for records of student organizations, alumni activities, and university publications
- Large collection of photographs and other memorabilia
