Faculty and Staff: Click to Request a Delivery or Pick-up

To provide community outreach and assistance for our faculty and staff in their research needs, Cook Library now offers a book delivery and pick-up service to faculty and staff with offices located on the main campus.

Who is Eligible?

This service is available to all TU faculty and staff with offices in an Academic or Administrative building on the main TU campus.

What is Eligible for Pick-up or Delivery?

Items eligible for delivery through this service include:

  • Books and media items listed in the Catalog USMAI as having an "On Shelf" status at Towson University Library.
  • Items requested through the Patron-Placed Hold System via the Catalog AND you have been notified that the item is available for pick-up.
  • Items requested via ILLiad, the Interlibrary Loan system AND you have been notified that the item is available for pick-up.

We will pick up any circulating library material that is checked out to your TU library or ILLiad account.

When Will Items be Picked Up or Delivered?

Student assistants will pick up and deliver items weekdays between the hours of 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting.

Delivery requests placed by 10 a.m. and pick-up requests placed by 12 noon will be honored the same day. All other requests will be filled the following business day. Given that transactions need to be tracked by the system, requests will be handled via the Web form only. Please do not phone in your requests.

Where Will the Items be Delivered?

Since this is a foot delivery service, student assistants will deliver or pick up materials from offices or departments located in an Academic or Administrative building on the main TU campus. Deliveries will not be made to the Residence Buildings or off-campus locations.

How May I Request This Service?

For Deliveries:

If you have items that are available for pick up or if an item is currently on the shelf at Cook Library, you may submit your request to the library via the Web form at:

http://cooklibrary.towson.edu/deliveryService/request.cfm.

Please be sure to verify your office location and the citation of the item(s) you need.

Please note that items will be checked out to your library account and are governed under the same policies as traditional loans. Items delivered to your office will be clearly marked: "Delivered by Cook Library" and a loan receipt will be provided.

For Pick-ups:

Please submit a request to the library via the Web form at:

http://cooklibrary.towson.edu/deliveryService/request.cfm.

Please be sure to verify your office location and indicate the number of items you wish for us to pick up. Your package must be clearly marked "Return to Cook Library." Items will be removed from your library account when the student returns to the library. A receipt will be emailed to you.
