Donate Materials to Albert S. Cook Library
Donate New Materials Through Our Amazon Wish List
The items on Cook Library's Amazon Wish List represent titles that the Library is interested in obtaining but does not have the financial resources to purchase. The items have been carefully selected by the librarians who serve as liaisons to Towson's academic departments and these librarians, along with the Library's technical services staff, keep the list as up-to-date as possible. As of July 2015, the Albert S. Cook Library no longer accepts bulk donations of books or journals, such as materials from estates or retirements. A gift of books or other materials that support the curriculum at Towson University may be accepted. With few exceptions, potential additions to the Cook Library collection must be a current imprint; in good condition with no writing or highlighting; and a unique addition to the collection (no duplicate copies).
All gifts become property of the library. The library staff will determine whether the gift will be retained, and if retained, where it will be shelved and how it will be cataloged and circulated. At the donor's request, bookplates may be placed in donated volumes added to the collection.
Albert S. Cook Library and the Towson University Foundation will send acknowledgment letters to donors. The library is unable to provide donors with a list of titles donated.
Federal laws do not permit the library to make appraisals. If an appraisal value is needed, please have the appraisal done prior to making the donation.
