Introduction

This section of the tutorial covers finding articles using online databases. It should take you approximately 15 minutes to complete this section. You will learn the basics of how to:

  • access the online databases from the Cook Library Homepage
  • choose an appropriate database for your subject.
  • construct an effective search in a database.
  • interpret your results.
  • email, print or save your results.
  • search online databases from off-campus.

Please note that in the Web environment, database services often change their interfaces. When you do your searches, you may notice some changes from our examples. However, the basic mechanics remain the same.
