Selecting
a Database
The
first step is selecting the appropriate database for your
research needs.
-
Some databases have very broad subject coverage, such as
“Academic Search or “Lexis-Nexis”.
-
These general databases often index both popular and
scholarly publications.
- Some
databases are very subject specific, such as “Art
Abstracts” or “PsycINFO”.
-
Subject-specific databases tend to cover scholarly journals
in a particular discipline.
